San Diego Comic Con!

San Diego Comic Con!

Well, San Diego Comic Con start yesterday 7/18/13, and it's causing me to think back to last year when I went. It is one of the most intense weekends I have had. San Diego Comic Con is the mecca of Comic Cons, unveiling new movie, games and other media related events. Actually to use the word comic when describing these cons is a bit of a misnomer, these events have more then just comics or comic related stuff but rather it should be referred to as a Universal Media Convention. Along with the above mentioned events Celebrities show up to connected with fans, taking photo ops, signing photos, or simply answering fans questions during panel discussions. Outside of these events artists line up to show their work to the industries leading professionals. Companies debut latest designs in software and equipment pertaining to all artists ranging from Painters, Illustrators to 3D Modeling and Practical Creature Creation, these events are for all artists. Last year I shared a cab from my hotel to the convention center and met an aspiring writer that won a state competition in writing and her Dad told her he would take where ever she wanted to go, she said she wanted to go to the San Diego Comic Con!

This is the place to go! Do you want to be a writer, an artist or game developer? Comic Con is not only the place to meet the Masters but also to connect with like minded people that will turn into the next generation of Masters; the Aspiring Artists. I know when I went I felt a regenerated inspiration in comics and all the things that have always interested me. Comic Cons contain a world of creative energy just waiting for you to be a part of.

2012 San Diego was an awesome experience for me I met/saw many of my inspirations. If you get a chance to go take it! San Diego is a beautiful city and is worth visiting. However most states have comic cons going on probably within a couple hours of where you are living and though none compare to the size of San Diego they still have the same experiences and opportunities to offer, every year I go to Chicago Wizard World Comic Con and this year I went to C2E2 in Chicago for the first time and it was awesome!

If I haven't quite convinced you yet check out Morgan Spurlock' Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope , this will give true insight to the spirit of comic con!

Have you been to Comic Con? Do you want to go? What excites you the most about Comic Con? Share your thoughts with me!

Thanks,
