An Introduction and a quick Rant

Hello everyone CoolCatM here some of you may know me from BlogTV, YouTube or Deviant Art. I will attempt to write a blog now. Hopefully your comments will help perpetuate and motivate me to pursue some of my goals with the little time I have available. 

 I like media. Comics, Movies, Music, Books, Video Games you name it I like it... for the most part. I spread my time out to cover each of these but I feel like I never have enough... but really do any of us? I have a story that is supposed to be six chapters and I have been working on it for three, obviously not diligently or it would have been done by now. Also I have a new ArtPrize picture (if you don't know what this is Google it) that I have been working on and off on for about a year. So you know, the picture needs to be a priority however it feels like it's become work, probably because there is an expectation that I have to have it done by a certain time but that due date has always been a ways off, but now looming. 

 I think because I work so much I'm looking to do something exciting with my time off and I sit most of the day at my job that I'm not looking forward to spending eight hours sitting in front  of a desk writing, drawing, editing or animating. There is so much I want to out-put, if I had a media empire maybe I could get it all out, probably not.

 I would like to comment more about comics and share what I think are exciting things, but it kind of becomes a 'rubber room' if I don't hear from you.  

 So, tell me...
 What comics do you think are exciting and why? 
Do you like the new comic movies? 
What do you think they should add that would make them more interesting?
Are you writing any stories for comics, books or movies?

Chicago Comic Con

Chicago Comic Con So, I tried to make a post on Friday before I left for Chicago Comic Con, but the internet went down. It's probably better because I was only going to later post what happened later. Everything started out alright until we got to Chicago. THE TRAFFIC WAS TERRIBLE! We left early in the hopes of get to the center early and we sat in traffic for an hour and maybe moved 5 miles at best! Moral of the Story: Leave Early! Know your route and if you can if there is any construction. Now that we are past that. once We go there we saw the usually suspects of Awesome Cos-players!  We made our way around the convention center when I noticed some images by Frank Frazetta that were printed to about 24 X 36in poster sized pictures. The Wolverine

The Wolverine It's a difficult task to condense over thirty years of a characters history and experiences down to a two hour film. Some of the best moments of the character gets glazed over, connections between character and reader also lost in translation. Arguably Wolverines best moments are in the comics and not in the films, but an attempt has been made to connect the audience to the character that is Wolverine. A character that is renown for his savagery in battle and his haphazard disregard for rules, authority, or the chain of command. He's the best at what he does and he does it the best when left alone. The comics deal with his issues and like most comics circulate around the same character defects over and over. For a reader like me that wants to see his characters develop, get past there defects and develop to their potential it becomes difficult to see this recycling in comics, but it happens.
